I paint, print, and illustrate intimate works involving the exploration of space, time, its laws, our theories, and ultimately its inhabitants. Using oil and water based paints on various canvases, the unique vernacular translates a meditative yet energetic fantasy of an unearthly way of life. The raw morphing of what is familiar and what is dreamlike are special conundrums that offer a window of early modernism and a clear reference to The Fantastic while the color palette oscillates back and forth between minimal and an amalgamation of intense color.

There are levels of hierarchy in my work. Visually and conceptually, I am ultimately compelled to explore surreal elements yet it is intuitively developed from a deconstruction of the factual research done primarily on cosmology and astrophysics, as well as the peripheral areas of study: physics, mathematics, chemistry, biology, astronomy, etc. I examine, learn the facts, absorb the rules of these subjects, and then break those rules on the canvas or paper. I playfully reject those facts in a hopefully accessible way that can bring levity to such heavy subjects. These theories that exist on my own terms depict anything from vast fantastical worlds and parallel universes to the microcosm of quantum communities and life not of this earth.
